Second Shift’s 7th annual fall awareness and fundraising event

Over 60% of older and transitional aged foster care youth will leave care
and become immediately homeless.
Within 2 years of aging out 25% will be homeless.

We can change this!

Join us to learn more and make a lasting difference!

You may be wondering…
“Why trash bags?”

Foster children have historically and traditionally used trash bags as luggage.
The message this sends to them is that they and their lives have no more value than trash.
Many of our youth refer to themselves as “throw-away kids”.
By the time they age out of foster care they often
identify themselves with the value and disposable qualities
of the trash bag that holds all their possessions.
“Swag The Bag” gives us the opportunity to reframe that iconic symbol
into something FUN and FABULOUS!
We invite you to help us by attending the event, sponsoring, giving
or participating in our Art & Fashion Show!

ALL proceeds benefit the youth who are aging out or have aged out of foster care.

Silent Auction

Our annual silent auction has become a highly anticipated event.
Every year it is filled with fun and fabulous items and has been a great source of holiday shopping for our past guests. The Silent auction will go live virtually
at 8:00 AM, October 31, 2026 and remain live until 10:00 PM November 6, 2026. Bidding will take place online but items will be displayed during the event.

Trash Bag Art & Fashion Show

The art & fashion show will be presented in-person at the event on November 6, 2026.
Winners will be announced at the end of the event.
